Barky, lungey, screamy, growly?

We’ve got you covered.

If you have a reactive dog –
a dog who seems to have aggressive or otherwise over the top reactions to seeing dogs out on walks –
your dog doesn’t have an obedience problem.

Your dog is dealing with Big Feelings.

More obedience isn’t going to change those feelings!

Instead, it’s time to focus on changing his emotional response with Jekyll & Hyde.

We’ll focus on three categories throughout class:

|

All human beings,
as we meet them,
are commingled out of
good and evil…

Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde
Robert Louis Stevenson

1. Management

To change behavior, we need to do everything we can to prevent that unwanted behavior. Using a combination of passive and active management techniques, we’ll decrease the number of reactions you’re dealing with on your walks.

2. Enrichment

We will make faster progress in behavior modification if we start with a full cup – that’s where enrichment plays a role. Allowing your dog to be a dog – with safe outlets! – gives us a better foundation to build on.

3. Counter-Conditioning & Desensitization

Also known as “CC/DS” – this is the nitty gritty of changing emotions! We’ll teach your dog that the things they have those Big Feelings about aren’t actually as bad as they think by pairing their triggers with great stuff.
